About Billing Log

Billing log shows start time, end time, duration, channel name and frame name of each media.

• #Open with Notepad editor soft such as Notepad++ https://notepad-plus-plus.org/

• Prevent Content Manager from becoming overwhelmed with the quantity of historic "Billing" files that are waiting to be processed, as they are never deleted from your Content Manager. Moving the Billing files to an alternative location is recommended, as it will free up disk space over time, depending on the size of your network
• If you use antivirus software, exclude below from real time scanning
  • CM folder C:\ProgramData\Scala\InfoChannel Content Manager 5\Data\YourNetwork\receive
  • Pre-imaged Player D:\FTProot\InfoChannel_Player_5_Config_and_DATA\Application Data\Logs
• Download a billing log from a server and import to an Excel sheet. Create a report.

1 Set Billing logs.

1. Open ContentManager Planning>Playlists>Click a playlist you would like to collect the data.

2. Click an item name

3. Select Yes in the Audit Item. Click OK. Repeat the process on other media items. Save and Close.

4. Generate the Player

Network>Players>select the Player>Generate Plan

2.Enable or disable the logging of playback audit information for the Designer page

• When On, playback audit information is written to the playback audit log file when this page is played.
• When Off, no playback audit information is written for this page.
  • Open Designer Click on Playback Audit>Tick Audit Event>

3. Get Billing logs from a player

1.Start>All Programs>Scala Player>Scala Player Logs

D:\FTProot\InfoChannel_Player_5_Config_and_DATA\Application Data\Logs

2. Open billing logs. Right click on the billing log. Open with Notepad ++ (You need to install a code editor such as Notepad ++)

4. Get billing logs from Server. (Normally the next day)

Depends on your settings, normally it will take a day to get billing logs from the server

1. Open ContentManager. Network>Players>Tick a player>Properties

2. Get a uniqueID

3. Connect to server (Ex. Windows server 2012)

(default path) Select Computer > Local Disk (C) > ProgramData > Scala > InfoChannel Content Manager 5> Data > {NetworkFolderName} > Receive > Billing > {PlayerUniqueIDFolder}

Troubleshooting.

Billing logs do not upload to the server.

1. Network > Distribution＞ Prayback audit log updoads: Enabled
2. When you set that player turn it off at night.
   1. Delay logs SSHEALTH_LogUploadDelayHours=h in MMOS or
   2. Set hourly (Not recommended) Playback Audit Settings in Network > Distribution > Properties
