Introduction: For the next month you will be working on a social enterprise problem. This will involve researching the problem and applying economic/business concepts. TO START, Open this page, copy it, and name it "Your name Drop Page" (i.e., Patrick's Drop Page). Also, bookmark this Business Problem Research Doc. For each area of inquiry/research you do (i.e., customer archetype) you will open a new Business Problem Research Doc and document your research in that area on that document.
Problem Presentation: Yoke Pean (founder of DrinkWiseWasteLess) will present a problem that her social enterprise is currently trying to solve.
Presentation Requirements: Your presentation should meet all of the following criteria. This rubric will be used to assess your presentation.
Time: Your presentation should be no less than 10 minutes and no more than 15 minutes.
Every member of the group presents one of the major arguments for at least three minutes.
Slide Show: Your group should use a slide show to aid in presenting your solution. It should include all of the following.
Intro slide: This slide should include your team name and the names of each individual in your group.
Proposed solution: This slide should articulate the solution that you are proposing to our social entrepreneur and the basic arguments you will use to defend your solution. Your solution and arguments should be grounded in economic theory, particularly behavioral economic theory.
Research and Sources: You should use this slide to help explain the research that you did and the sources that you used to formulate your proposed solution. In explaining your sources you should be doing a lit review similar to the one you did in the intro to your research paper.
Arguments/Explanation: You should have at least three slides to help explain the major arguments that you are using to defend your proposal. This part of the presentation should be evidence-based. In making your arguments you should cite the sources and evidence from those sources that you have used to come to your conclusions. In addition, you should make it clear how your solution can be achieved. What are the practical steps that need to be taken in order to make it a reality.
Conclusion: This slide should help you to conclude your presentation by summarizing your arguments and proposal. And it should include a thank you to our entrepreneur.
