OPTION #1 (Self-paced and co-taught)
At the end of the unit you will have the opportunity to participate in an activity that will extend the ideas you've learned in the unit and challenge you as a student with a group that has demonstrated mastery of the standards. Being part of this group will enhance your learning, prepare you for the college classroom (especially the seminar feature of it) and have a positive impact on your grade. If you get an A on both the quiz and the test, you may choose to participate in a discussion that will be opened in Schoology after the summative quiz but before the first lesson in next unit. If you meet the requirements of the discussion, which will be explained in Schoology, and get an A on both parts of the summative (quiz and test), your grade for both the quiz and the test will be changed to A+. The discussion will be to respond to the question above using evidence from the linked texts and also to respond to your classmates' posts.
OPTION #2 (Self-paced only)
If you would prefer to do a long-term project in which you dig deeply into one topic, choose this option instead of Option #1. For Option #2 you will write a research paper. The explanation of how to do the research paper and the timeline for individual assignments that you must complete each unit can be seen by clicking this link.
