Be prepared to discuss what you learned and ask any questions you have.
Meet with your partner for the project and begin to design your experiment. Click the links below to see two exemplary student work models.
October 21: Start your experiment.
Research: Take as much time as you need today to do research on the main questions your experiment will address. What are the important papers and authors on this subject and how do they relate to your experiment?
Write your literature review. Do this on a Google Doc. You need to complete it by the beginning of next class (one per group). Please be sure that it has been shared with me here.
October 28: Continue your experiment.
Procedure and materials section due at the beginning of class.
Continue your experiment if necessary.
If your experiment is complete, start to analyze your final data. Compile your data in a form that would be understandable to a reader (i.e., your teacher), who did not do the experiment themselves. Be sure to share that here.
Start to write the discussion section of your paper. In this section you should include these subsections
Evaluation of data: Did it support your initial hypothesis?
Weaknesses: What were some possible sources of error in the experiment?
Real life applications: How might your conclusions be applied to the real world?
Contribution: What did your research add to the existing research on this question?
Your discussion is due at the beginning of next class. Submit it here.
