Forward Pass Controversy

Instructions:

1. Click on the link to 'Text 1' and watch the replay of the pass from Aaron Cruden which resulted in a 'no-try' (first video).

2. Discuss with a friend from your group and decide whether you agree or disagree with the referee's decision.

3. Read 'Text 1'.

4. Read 'Text 2' - an imaginary letter from Alain Rolland to Wayne Barnes. Watch the video clip as part of the letter (this is also the video embedded here).

5. Your task is to write a letter back to Alain Rolland from a supporter of Wayne Barnes who has read this letter you have just read. Explain why you think Wayne Barnes called a forward pass in this situation (even if you don't personally agree).

2. This week we are finishing off our 'Fab Four' super heroes. Sketching by hand (using a range of coloured pencils), finish off the last two heroes - a clarifier and a summariser. Upload a photo of your art onto this presentation.

NOTE: a hint as to the superpower each superhero will have can be found in the presentation!

Write a sentence or two, explaining what your superhero does.

3. Once you have uploaded photos of your artwork for the four superheroes, embed the presentation onto your blog with an explanation of the task.

1. Read your story carefully.

2. If you come across words or phrases you don't understand, use the visual cues (illustrations) as well as other words which you do know and prior knowledge of the topic to problem solve. Come to our group discussion prepared to share ideas and help each other out!
