QUESTION: How did your topic influence the world during the period 1200-1500?
The purpose of this project is for you to choose a topic that you do not know about and research it thoroughly. A well chosen project will allow you to connect to almost any potential AP essay question. Hopefully this project gives you a possibility of getting the "unicorn point."
GRASP this Project
G: You are an intern at a law firm which was hired to challenge a recent acquisition at the Museum of Antiquities.
R: You are an intern and are just given one piece of research to do - find an important event/topic that connects to many other events.
A: Your audience is your bosses (the actual lawyers) who need to prepare for the impossible - challenge the museum keeping the recent acquisition when they don't actually know what the acquisition is yet - just its age 500-800 years old.
S: You are expected to find relevant and interesting data to allow them to best defend against the unknowable.
P: Create a project that gives your bosses the best defense because hopefully your topic will connect to the actual artifact.
S: This will be graded and evaluated based on the IB Rubrics (A through D), but will be judged a success if your bosses use your research.

Before starting any project, make sure you do some initial research first and VERIFY that you have enough sources and information to complete the project and answer the question. This is important for this project, all of the other projects and the IB project system in general (not least of which is the Extended Essay). Research. . . then choose.
THEREFORE, you will be required to do the following before choosing a project:
an initial plan on Schoology.
5 source work cited page confirming the resources are available to complete project including 2 academic journals
a plan for the project (1 page outline of what you plan to do in your project)
Thesis, 3 Baby Theses, Most Interesting Idea, Best Quote, Meet all rubric requirements
Then make your final choice: DUE FRIDAY 25th at the end of class
See example of required research & Works Cited: Example Of Chad

Project
Every word must be typed and uploaded to BOTH Schoology and turnitin.com. Other than that, you may use any format you prefer for completing the project. It should be a minimum of 600 words, maximum 1600 words. Any turnitin.com similarity percentages over 14% are highly suspicious and will be rigorously pursued for plagiarism. Any found plagiarism will result in a zero for this project.
It will be graded using the IB rubrics only which means the 600 word count is very unlikely to get you an A.

NOTE
Meet the exact requirements outlined in the rubrics. For your grade, nothing else matters. That means you get no additional credit for being neat, for having a title, for having pictures. It is all about a clear thesis statement, or for having a solid conclusion, for making a good argument and doing good research. Nothing is worth any points unless it is on the rubrics. THEREFORE, make sure you meet every requirement in the rubric.
You need to do research on this topic, and you need to convey to your audience (Mr. O and the rest of the class) that you did that research. Therefore, you need to tell us where you got your information!!!
