Climate Analysis
In this assignment, you will be answering the question “Is Climate Change Happening?” For the past few days, you have been analyzing local temperatures and comparing them to past years’ temperatures. You will be using the same skills and processes to analyze one or more sets of data. There are numerous indicators of climate change and we have data for the following:
Choose one (or more) climate change indicators to analyze: LINK to data
Annual Average Temperature
Growing Season
Ice Out
Snow on the Ground
Snowfall
Precipitation (Rain and Snow)
Sea Level
Sea Surface Temperatures
Graph the data over time and add trendlines
Interpret and make comparisons within or between climate change indicators
Write a 2-3 paragraph conclusion based on the data investigated.
- Make a claim. Is climate change happening?
- Use your data analysis as evidence to support your argument (use graphic organizer as a guide)
- Remember to use quantitative data when you can!
- Attach graph(s) to your writing
- Provide reasoning that connects your claim to the evidence that supports it.
- *Predict the future of your region and the implications of the change.
