9/11 - 9/20/13
These next two weeks will be a little uproarious due to the Rippleffect trip to Cow Island. As this is a blended classroom, the classroom will have anywhere from 5 to 24 students! Due to this, students will be working on a self-directed mini-metric unit in class. This will include mini-labs, articles, games, videos, and worksheets --- as well as a Mini-Metric Olympic Game. I will be checking in with students during the class to guide them through the topic but I will not be "lecturing" the class as a whole.
By the end of next week, students should feel comfortable measuring length, mass, volume, and temperature as well as using the metric system.

These are the directions for students for the project and for today. This will also be linked on my website in case the AppleTV doesn’t work.
Students choose three scientists to research using reputable websites (based on the presentation from yesterday.) Hand out the “packet” which includes the list of scientists. Keep students quiet throughout (as this is individual work.)
All work will be completed online. Students will have a table in their DRIVE titled 5 Lastname Scientist Table. At this point students can begin to research using the guidelines from the day before.
