Why is the history of the atom so important?

It is fundamental to the understanding of science that science is understood to be a process of trial and improvement and represents the best known at the time, not always the absolute truth. Understanding of atomic structure has been a developmental process over time. This is science!

Objectives:

To visually represent the time periods in which major contributions were made toward the modern atomic theory
To independently research other philosophers/scientists who contributed to the modern atomic theory
To individually write an essay explaining how and why the atomic theory has changed over time

FRIDAY: Complete Essay Individually --- This will be done in class but you can use any notes you have (the guided notes from Monday would be perfect!) to write this.

If you do not have your own notecards, you can do them on plain white paper! When you are done, look over the checklist and star some activities that look interesting to you. Please begin working on one of the red activities when you are done with your notecards.
