Business Hours
Monday – Thursday, 9 to 5pm (hours set by supervisors)
Sunday Responsibilities (hours set by supervisors)
Check your Midtown email daily during the work week. Please respond to all emails within 24 business hours, even just to say you’ll respond at a later date. Administrative mistakes such as forgetting to respond to an email may be unintentional but communicate a lack of care and respect to our members.
Workload
You should have plenty to do, but if for whatever reason you find yourself with spare time please 1) Ask your supervisor if you can help him with something and 2) Ask Kelsey if you can help her with something. If both say no, ask another Resident if you can help with something. You are here to work, that is why your donors gave, so we want to honor the Lord and them by working diligently.
Midtown Membership
If you are not a Member of Midtown yet, please sign up to take the next class available.
Breaking Your Residency Commitment
You have committed to serve as a Resident for 1 year, if for any reason you are unable to do so or choose to quit, you must have a formal meeting with your Supervisor and the Resident Director to discuss the reason you are leaving. You will also be asked to fill out a form stating your reasons. The reason for this is because we value Residency highly and believe it is 99% of the time in your best interest to finish out your commitment. If you leave early, for whatever reason, any funds in your Residency account will be moved to the General Residency Fund to help underfunded Residents.
Reducing Hours
You must notify your Supervisor and Resident Director and get permission from them to change hours. If you are going from Full Time(40-50 hours) to Part Time (20-30 hours) seek their permission, your pay will reflect the number of hours you are working. If you are going from working Part Time (20-30 hours) to working less than 20 hours a week, you will no longer considered a Resident and will not be paid (unless there are extenuating circumstances determined on a case by case basis).
Integrity
We all struggle with sin, we don’t expect you to be perfect, but we do expect you to be walking in the light, openly confessing your struggles with LG, and seeking accountability to actively combat sin. Please speak with your Supervisor about the areas you are struggling in. We value open confession and honesty.
Fire-able Offenses
This is very case by case, but as stated above, live with integrity in a way that honors Christ and when you fail to do so, confess and repent. Do not lie or hide. Confess and let us walk with you.
In this office you may overhear personal information about others. Whatever is said in this building, stays here. You are not allowed to share with anyone, any personal information about others. People need this to be a safe place and need to be able to trust us. Gossiping is a huge No-No and will break our trust.
Office Teams
You will each be placed on an office team and be responsible for specific chores to help keep our office tidy. We have a family mentality- we all pitch in when we see something that needs to be done. Don’t wait for someone else to do it when you could take 5 minutes to do it and help everyone out.
Resident Reception Shift
Expected to work one reception shift a week, 2 hours at a time, continue to do your work, just sit at the desk to answer the phone, distribute messages, and welcome visitors
Residency Class
Take advantage of the opportunities to learn. This is part of your job, attendance is required. You are allowed two absences per semester.
Employee Weekly Updates
Submit by Mondays at 10 am to your supervisor. These are extremely helpful for facilitating communication between supervisors and residents. Most important question on the update: How are you doing?
