Current Auditorium Chair Set Up (As of October 2018):
Fire Alarm Instructions:
In order to turn off the fire alarm at the Blanding building:
1. Go to the Fire Alarm room located directly to the right of the production booth.
2. Locate big red panel box to the left.
3. Open the red panel box.
4. Locate the Keypad.
5. Press the "Alarm Silence" button.
Outdoor Speakers Instructions:
We have the front side of the outdoor speakers hooked up and read to roll. As of right now we will have a different playlist outside, than what is happening in the lobby and auditorium.
Inside the Host Team Closet directly behind the door is a black JBL amplifier. looks like this:
On top of that is a small white iPod that should stay offline when being used. It should always stay connected to a power supply, and always stay connected to the amplifier.
I've put as many labels on there, that I think would be helpful.
To turn on the music:
1. Power on Amplifier
2. Power on iPod and navigate to spotify and press play on PreGathering 2017 Spring (or another spotify playlist that is available offline)
3. Make sure volume knob on Input 2 is all the way up, and Input 3 is all the way down, and the Master Volume is at 12 o'clock or inline with the arrows.
Input 2 is the iPod that is currently connected (there is a spotify playlist that is downloaded to the iPod to be used) - keep it turned all the way up.
Input 3 is the Auditorium Feed - and let's keep that at zero for now.
The Master Volume has arrows indicated where is a good volume for outside. However make sure you go out and listen and make adjustments as you feel necessary.
There is a GREEN ring that will flash on and off around the Master Volume knob, to indicate that sound is coming through. If it flashes RED, that means it was too loud.
There may be some adjustments that we make in the future, but as of right now this will work for us on Sundays.
** Host Team Coordinator - can you be sure to turn it on as early as 30min before gathering starts - or as soon as you get there? Be sure to turn off the amplifier when you leave.
** Be aware to check levels and make sure the music is playing throughout serving.
** There is a spotify playlist already downloaded and ready to be played offline.
** If you try to play a spotify playlist while online, and the pregathering music is playing in the auditorium - it will stop the auditorium music - so please don't do that.
** Send this to anyone you think might need it in the future.
Update: 9/7/17
There is now a second amplifier that controls the outdoor speakers on the side of the building on barnwell street.
There for you will need to turn that amplifier on and check the audio for the side as well as the front. I think "12 o'clock" position is loud enough for a normal Sunday
For both amps - there are two master volumes (left and right) that need to be turned up. You will see a green flashing ring around the volume controls when audio is being sent through.
Be sure to turn the audio down once the teaching begins so there isn't an overflow of music coming from outside when it gets quiet in the auditorium.
Just like the top amp - channel 2 is the iPod. Channel 3 is the auditorium audio.
Please do not hesitate to come grab me or ask me to explain anything.
Update: 8/20/18
Lenovo
There is now a computer that has Spotify on it. In addition the playlists are downloaded to the computer incase the wifi goes out.
The computer is set to stay awake as long as it is plugged in. It has a touch screen also if the trackpad isn't working like you like.
There is no password required for the computer.
The computer is a "refurb" so it might not work perfectly - so keep Jay posted if it’s having
iPod (currently powered off - but charges when computer is open)
If the computer for some reason doesn't work - the iPod beside it has 10 songs downloaded iTunes that can be used as a back up.
(This iPod was having issues in the past, but we’re hoping it was because of Spotify/Wifi and not the iPad.)
Maintenance Tips:
If you need to restock paper supplies (toilet paper, towels) there is a green key ring in the closet of the kitchenette that can open up the holders. Please return key ring back to where you found it.
Thermostat for HVAC to lobby is in the electrical room in the lobby.
Production Door:
If the production door "doesn't lock," open the door and depress the deadbolt and it usually remedies the problem.
It seems that people can't get it to lock and just leave it unlocked recently (there is 10-15k of gear back there).
