Fine Arts Academy

The Meenakshi Sundararajan Fine Arts Academy was established in 2002 with the aim of promoting Indian art, culture and heritage among today's youth. The Academy organizes music and classical dance performances during the year in the college. Students thus get an opportunity for exposure to the beauty of the fine arts and develop an appreciation and respect for the same.

Dr. (Ms.) K. S. Lakshmi is the Secretary of the Academy, Dr. Sri. Nalli Kuppusamy Chetty is the Patron and Sri. A. Natarajan, Fmr. Director, Madras Doordarshan is the Consultant.

The highlight of the Academy's activities is the 3-week long annual Fine Arts Festival organized in the college to coincide with the December Music Season in Chennai. World renowned artists come to the college to perform and enthrall the audience. The public is welcome to attend the concerts and their are no tickets or fee charged.

Fine Arts Festival 2019

The Meenakshi Sundararajan Fine Arts Academy is organizing its Eighteenth Annual Fine Arts Festival from 4 December to 22 December 2019 in the Meenakshi College premises. The function is inaugurated by Thiru. Mangat Ram Sharma, I.A.S., Principal Secretary to Government of Tamilnadu, Department of Higher Education.
