Fourth grade goals:
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents 10 times what it represents in the place to the right.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers in standard form, word form, and expanded form.
Compare two multi-digit whole numbers using the symbols =, <, or >.
Round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
When students begin fourth grade:
Students should be able to list the order of places from the ones place to the thousands place.
Students should be able to round numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
