Fourth grade goals:
Multiply a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number.
Multiply two 2-digit numbers.
Illustrate and explain the calculations by using equations, arrays, and/or area models.
When students enter fourth grade:
Students should be have some familiarity (but not mastery) of simple multiplication facts
Students should have some understanding of the concept of multiplication (making equal groups)
