The students thoroughly enjoyed a scavenger hunt for long i and short i words throughout the school. We searched the hallways, music room, Mrs. McCartin's room, Ms. Gish's room, and Mrs. Harmeling's room to generate a list of words with long and short i. The kids did an amazing job at locating both words and people with the vowel sounds!

Unit 1 Reading Test

We will take Reading Unit 1 Test this week. The stories and test questions will be read to the students, and they will receive help restating the short answer and "essay" questions. Up to this point, the stories and questions have been read to the students. Beginning with Unit 2 Week 1 the week of September 12th, the students will read the stories and questions themselves. I will send a copy of the test stories home each Friday so that students can practice reading them in advance.
