This page provides you with information on Professional Learning opportunities on Google Apps for Education (GAFE) and 1-1 pedagogical approaches. It is a work in progress! Over the course of the pilot we will be researching the best online forums, training, courses and also ideas of what we can offer locally.
The Highland ICT in Learning Team carried out a survey with all staff to establish requirements for ICT, this was in 2014. Providing training in a timeous way, taking account of the geography of Highland and other work demands is key. Digital Skills are important for all. We can offer a face to face bite-size session on how Highland is using GAFE and hear more about the pilot. We now have 1/2 day sessions planned on a simple introduction and also GAFE Admin training.

Learning Lunches
Callum Arthur, Maths Teacher at Kingussie High School, came up with the idea of Learning Lunches - the first sessions was about 'Google Sites'.
Yesterday in Kingussie High School we had a "learning lunch", where I shared some of my experiences of getting started with Google Sites as a complete novice and showing off how it can be used. I decided the best way to do this would be to actually create a Site with some tips for people wanting to create their own space on the web.

Google Training Here is all the training you need in bite-sized portions. There are two levels, Fundamentals and Advanced. Highland staff can log in with their GAFE account.
Introduction Getting Started with GAFE This site has bite-size introduction videos and sessions for starting Google for Education implementation. It's helpful in explaining how we can set / push out apps and content to users.
