Pupil’s feedback is the most important here and the tutor completes surveys using a Google Form pupils. When asked what they enjoyed most one pupil stated: Having the chance to learn German but in an independent way with help where and when needed.
Through the External Verification process the SQA provided statements to the school and accepted all judgements and provided excellent feedback on the model and the materials.
The class materials and assignments are all available through the connected Google Drive Folder. The tutorials are recorded and saved for viewing later. The tutorials show live collaborative documents and translations. The tutorials are scheduled through a calendar invite that pops up with notifications and includes automatically a link for the online hangout. We now have pupils now shifting to Higher courses from N5 in Latin too.
The Highland Distance Learning Courses - German, Geology, Latin and Greek are now delivered using Google Apps tools and technology which has been funded through an Inspiring Learning Fund. Our Latin course has just been externally verified by the Scottish Qualifications Authority.
The Latin tutor uses the apps and technology provided to schedule online tutorials (both individual and group) and google classroom to provide a workflow of assignments that includes both collaborative feedback and private individual feedback to students. The learners also have access to technology through their Chromebook provided with funding from the Inspiring Learning Fund.
