As a Halloween based activity Primary 6 watched the beautiful award winning short animated film Alma. They then wrote a recount of the events, collaborating on a class Google Doc which was then downloaded as a pdf and turned into an online book.
Head Teacher Nick Thomson, has been incredibly impressed with how the pupils and teachers are using Google Apps and how the access to technology is inspiring creative writing.
Lundavra Primary School in Fort William are the latest school in Highland to receive Chromebooks for use with their P6s and P7s. They received them just as the brand new school opened after the October holiday break. In advance of this the school had focussed on preparing to move to a 1-1 model in the classroom by using Google Apps and looking at various pedagogical approaches, as well as keeping Parents and Carers informed.
The pupils worked on their own e-safety policies in line with the council's approaches to Safe and Responsible Use of ICT. Some of the documents are available in our documents section of this website.
