It is possible to combine two or more components that you always use together into a combined component to speed up the design process. The shelf with nosing component is an example of this.
To make a combined component:
- Import all the components that will make up the combined component
- Set the options of each to the most used settings
- Position them correctly relative to each other.
- Select all the components you want to combine
- Make a new component
- Save the new component to your library.
To use the combined component:
- Import it into your model
- Explode it
- Now you have all the individual components that can be used in the same way as if they had been imported individually.
**Other ideas of when to use combined components are:
- Multiples of shelves with predefined % from bottom of cabinets. Use this if you always put 3 adjustable shelves in your upper cabinets. You can make a combined "upper adj shelves" component that contains 3 adjustable shelves with 25%, 50%, and 75% from bottom spacing.
- Sink and faucet component. Placing them at the same time helps position them correctly. Once you explode the component you can size them independently
- Oven and hood
- Islands prebuilt with cabinets, panels, and countertops
