Import Drawer Slides

We are constantly adding new drawers to the CabinetSense Library. Along with that, we also add the machining specifications to the sample database.

You can import these machining specifications into your database with the Import Drawer Slides function.

Steps

1. Get the latest version of the database by downloading the CabinetSense Library from the website. Store it in your downloads folder or any other place that is suitable for temporary storage.

1. Open the machining application using the MS Access icon in SketchUp.
2. Select the Import Drawer Slides tab

1. Press the button and navigate to the library that you had downloaded in step 1. Go to the Database Folder, select CabinetSenseDB.accdb and press Open.

1. NOTE: Your database and the database you have just selected must both be of the same version. If they aren’t, you will get an error message and the database selected will not be available for further processing.
1. The database downloaded from the website is always for the latest version of CabinetSense, so the safest practice is to make sure you have installed the latest build of CabinetSense before doing the import.
2. Press the dropdown list and select the slide that you want to import.

1. NOTE: Only the slides that are not in your database are listed here.
2. Press the Import button to import the selected slide.

1. You can now import another slide. Notice that the one previously imported is no longer in the list of available slides.

1. Finally, Copy the drawer component from the sample library that you downloaded in step 1 and paste it into your library. The name of the drawer will have the same name as the slide imported.

1. You are now ready to use the new slide in your models.
