New versions of CabinetSense may require that existing components be upgraded. CabinetSense will dynamically change them as you open older models and use old library components from the components browser. Or, you can upgrade your existing libraries and models with this upgrade process.
It allows you to select the folder containing the components that you want to upgrade and will process all Sketchup models found within it. It will also review any sub-folders and update any file found within them as well.
IMPORTANT: It is a good practice to make a copy of the folders prior to upgrading. There is no going back once the upgrade has been done.
When you select the upgrade option, you are presented with the following dialog. Navigate to the location that contains the sketchup components or models that you would like to upgrade.
You must select a .skp file and click on Open.
Note: if you are wanting to upgrade several sub-folders and there isn't a .skp file for you to choose at the parent level, simply add a text file with an extension of skp and then use it to initiate the process.
After you have selected the file, you then will be given the following warning:
If you presently have a model in your Sketchup work-space that you need to save before continuing, reply no to this dialog. Pressing Yes brings you to this final pre-conversion message:
Pressing Yes will begin the conversion process.
Note: This process can take several minutes depending on how many components are being upgraded and the speed of your computer. if you decide to abort part way through the conversion process (by shutting off your machine, pressing ctrl+alt+delete...) any converted components will remain upgraded. Restarting the upgrade at a later time will pick up where it left off. Any components that have already been converted will now be bypassed.
