Overview
The partition is placed inside the cabinet. Its height is constrained by whatever is immediately above and below it. Items that constrain it are:
- Cabinet Top
- Cabinet Bottom
- Fixed Shelf
It also constrains the width of:
- Fixed Shelf
- Adjustable Shelf
- Door
- Drawer
You can use the SketchUp Scale tool to resize its height. After you resize it, CabinetSense will again look for the upper and lower constraint and calculate its required size.
Faceframes
The partition component has special behavior that is unique to the faceframe mid-stile.
- The partition will sync itself to the mid-stile when you place or move a partition onto it. From then on, moving the mid-stile will also cause the partition to move. Moving the partition away from the mid-stile will break this relationship and return the partition to a stand-alone component.
- When a partition is synced, its placement properties (see Unique Properties below) will also behave differently. The partition is placed in relation to the mid-stile . Selecting "from Left" will place the partition flush to the left of the mid-stile , "from Right" will flush it to the right, and "% from Left" will center it on the mid-stile.
- The mid-stile offset will move the partition the specified amount to the left when the partition is referenced to the Left of the Mid-stile. It will move the partition to the right when it is referenced to the Right of the mid-stile.
- none of the other placement properties have any affect while the partition is synced to the mid-stile.
Unique Attributes
- Placement
- Reference: Choose between a) from left of cabinet, b) from right of cabinet, or c) % from left of cabinet. As you re-size the cabinet, the partition will be re-positioned based on this setting.
- Distance: The distance to move from the reference point (defined above)
- New Percentage: Enter a percentage value in this property. CabinetSense will calculate the distance and update the distance property for you.
- Percentage: Display field the shows the % that the partition is in relation to the reference field.
- Mid-stile Offset: This field is only used in Faceframe cabinets when a partition is synced to a mid-stile
- Important: Partitions that are synced to a mid-stile behave differently... please see the faceframe section above for more information.
- Partition
- Type: Determines how the partition will act and how it will join to the cabinet.
- Fixed: Doors, Drawers, and shelves can attach themselves to fixed partitions. CNC machining will apply any dadoes and drilling functions requested.
- Adjustable: Nothing will will attach itself to an adjustable partition. Like an adjustable shelf, CNC machining will apply lineboring patterns.
- Marker: Marker partitions are a special case used specifically to create Frameless blind corner cabinets. Doors and Aprons will attach to Marker partitions. As well, these partitions will only attach to the top and bottom of the cabinet.
- When CabinetSense detects a marker partition, it will find whatever is attached to the left or right of it, and depending on the swing of the door, it will appropriately apply the blind corner cabinet hinging to them.
- Depth: Full or Partial. If set to Full, the back of the partition will touch the front of the cabinet back.
- Partial Depth: The depth of the partition when Depth is set to partial.
- Height Overide: The default height of the partition is determined based on the criteria defined in the overview... unless over-ridden here.
- Thickness Overide: The default thickness is defined in the cabinets partition property unless over-ridden here.
