College Prep. Term focuses on the writing of research papers using MLA and APA formats. Students should expect to thoroughly research a topic acquiring information from a variety of sources, and compiling formal papers following a standard procedure. In addition to the citation styles, students will learn strategies for reading and analyzing academic papers, how to use bibliographies, how to navigate database, and how to utilize library resources. Some basics of literary theory may also be covered to prepare students for reading college-level journal articles.
