The agendas and materials on this page are a ready-to-use, step-by-step approach to collaborative teacher inquiry, based on the Data Wise Improvement Process. These materials are designed to provide facilitators and participants who may be new to Data Wise (and inquiry) with the tools, resources and guidance they will need to launch an inquiry journey, though experienced teams may also draw upon these materials to support their inquiry work.
Through completing this designed inquiry progression, teacher teams will engage in collaborative problem solving, tackling problems that are too complicated and too important to tackle alone. In working together using a disciplined inquiry process, teachers will advance their understanding of the challenges they face and will ensure that all children are academically successful.
The materials for each step are organized into three categories:
Recommended agendas are designed for teams new to inquiry. Each agenda builds on the previous and prepares teams for the next: follow them to complete a full inquiry cycle. Click on each individual agenda, or check out this rolling agenda.
Alternate agendas are designed for situations that recommended agendas might not directly address, or to extend a team's practice in an area.
Focus student inquiry agendas are designed to help teams expand the sphere of success to include every student. At the very heart of inquiry is closing achievement gaps: use these materials to focus on increasing the achievement of your most struggling students. Strategic inquiry is also available in the rolling agenda format.
