To enhance your learning experience and provide affordable access to the right course material, this course is part of an inclusive access model called First Day™. You can easily access the required materials for this course through Blackboard, at a discounted price, and benefit from single sign-on access with no codes required.
Austin Community College includes the discounted price as a course fee in your registration fees for many courses. Access to digital materials is covered by this course fee. See ACC bookstore page if you wish to order a reduced-cost loose-leaf version of your textbook to use in addition to your digital materials. They will be available for sale at ACC bookstores after the end of the Opt Out period to students who are opted in.
It is NOT recommended that you Opt Out, as these materials are required to complete the course. You can choose to Opt Out in the first week of class, but you will be responsible for purchasing your course materials at the full retail price and access to your materials may be suspended. See your course in Blackboard for details.

Course pairings, such as NCBM 0214/MATH 1314 College Algebra with Support, are designed to get a student through the equivalent of two courses in one semester. Most of our paired courses use the same materials for both courses in the pairing. Check with your instructor if you are not sure. If you are enrolled in a paired course using the same materials for both courses, you only pay one course fee for materials. In this case, if you opt out from either course in the pairing, you will lose access to all of the materials for both courses.
It is not recommended that students opt out of First Day Access, as the student will still be responsible for purchasing course materials from a retailer, which in most cases costs much more. Find the link to opt out on the Course Materials page of your Blackboard course. If you have difficulty finding it, check with your instructor, as they may have rearranged the content.
Refunds should be issued 15 days after the deadline to opt out. If more than three weeks have passed and you would like to follow up about your refund, please send an email to B2P@austincc.edu to inquire. Include your student ID number and the specific course for which you opted out.
The textbooks link in the online course schedule should take you to a site that is managed by the ACC bookstore. It includes two lists of titles, labeled RECOMMENDED and REQUIRED. Recommended materials may be optional supplements, or in some cases are larger bundles that include the required materials, so make sure that whatever you choose to purchase at least includes the required materials.
The following courses DO NOT have First Day Access. Students must purchase their materials separately.
