Week 10 10A

Friday, Feb 22nd- Mr. Jensen 4th period

Today we'

  • Spent 30 minutes finishing our papers
  • Peer edited according to Mr. J's Rubric
  • Your essays are due by 7pm Tonight (unless you've had a conference with me). Late points will be enforced pasted 7pm
  • You've spent all week writing so have a good weekend

Friday Feb 22

Per 4 Ms. Scott

Today we:

  • Turned in draft 1 of essay with rubric on top
  • Peer edited draft 1 of essay using peer edit checklist AND the rubric

Homework:

  • Take home your peer edited essay
  • On Google Doc this weekend, Fix issues and errors---fix every error you see and add more to the essay if needed (bring book home and all resources)
  • Proofread final draft of essay very closely
  • Print final draft
  • Bring rough draft, Rubric, and final draft AND peer edit form (if you get it done) to school on Monday to turn it in!
      • We will have no time to work on the essay next week in class!


Thursday Feb 21

Period 5 Ms. Scott's class

Today we:

  • Briefly discussed issues I was seeing in essays---these need to be addressed (ALL students should be using the model essay and the rubric to help with their essays)
  • Peer editing tomorrow for a grade (the writer will get the grade) This means the essay is done, proofread several times, and printed and in the basket first thing tomorrow. (Or completed, proofread several times, and printed today and turned in)
  • Those whose papers are not done and in the basket tomorrow can finish..but the first draft will be LATE and these students will not get any points on a peer edit UNLESS they have a teacher/advisor (NOT me) peer edit BEFORE the end of Friday. I must see a print out of draft 1, with peer editing marks by the end of Friday.

Homework:

  • Finish, proofread, print draft one in the basket first thing tomorrow---or it's late and you will not receive peer editing points

Wednesday, February, 20th

Per 4 Mr Jensen's Class

Homework:

  • Edit the introduction of your paper
  • if you are falling behind, keep writing

Today we:

  • Turned in all of the body paragraph planning sheets if not turned in for a grade already
  • Got the rubric for the essay---you must keep this not only for yourself, but for peer editing tomorrow!!!
  • Finished and proofread draft 1 of the thematic essay
  • Upon my approval, you will print this out

Homework:

  • The entire essay should be completed tonight

None- We will be writing our essays in class, but don't fall behind this week or you will have to write ar home as the week goes on

  • we did forecasting with Ms. Scott
  • We peer reviewed our Thematic Outlines
  • We began writing our thematic essays/

Tuesday Feb 19

Per 5 Ms. Scott

Today we:

  • Some students needed to turn in Body par. 1 handout form last week
  • Received rubric for the FINAL draft of the essay--do not write on this except your name and period
  • Completed Body paragraph 2 handout in class and turned it in
  • Continued typing the essay using the sample essay I handed out last week

Homework:

COMPLETE body par. 1 and 2 preparation handouts and make sure they are IN first thing tomorrow---

TONIGHT!!!!! Finish intro, Body 1 and Body 2 paragraphs tonight (Tomorrow we work on conclusion)
