The 380524 and 390406 (sometimes incorrectly seen as 390523) versions of "There Was A Crooked Man" use the same title but have different plots. The 1938 version is about a prosecutor James Conway smashing a gambling racket. The 1939 version (known from the script) is about Kester who fixes a horse race.
