43/11/xx or 43/11/01 or 43/11/21 Royal Visit s/b 43/10/10 School Pal to Visit aka Royal Visit.

Originally this date was derived by newspaper descriptions below but has since been confirmed by "Tuning In The Great Gildersleeve: The Episodes and Cast of Radio's First Spinoff Show", 1941-1957 by Clair Schultz.

1. 43/11/21 was about a moose hunt per Wisconsin State Journal (WSJ). 43/11/28 was about the return from the hunt per WSJ. All other broadcast dates in November are accounted for.

2. 43/10/10 is about meeting an old school friend per WSJ.

3. In the School Pal/Royal Visit show, Gildy is upset his house painter was stolen by Leila. The 43/10/17 show is about Gildy getting his painter back per WSJ.

4. In the School Pal/Royal Visit show, Leila says she won't accept an invitation from Gildy. By the 43/10/31 show she was interested in him again.

5. The episode date circulating used to be 43/11/xx but later mutated to 43/11/21 or 43/11/01 or 43/11/28. My theory on the original date of the month of November, but no specific date is that in the show, they refer to a visit last year from a kid (son of the school pal). That was a reference to the 42-11-15 episode. So, maybe somebody added 12 months to that show. It seems somebody assumed they meant exactly 12 months after that episode.

6. The episode deals with the visit of a school pal and his wife the "countess", so Royal Visit is a questionable title.

44-12-31 New Year's Eve was 44-12-24 Christmas Eve

45/03/18 161 Laughing Coyote Ranch was 56-xx-xx Doye O'Dells Dude Ranch. It stars Willard Waterman (with an old Harold Peary intro edited onto it). Amanda Randolph plays Birdie. (She took over in 1955). Doye announces there is a new album out. The songs he performs are from an album called "Doye" that came out in 1956. The correct 45/03/18 is now in circulation. Opening line "(singing). Oh no wait a minute fellas".
