Chase and Sanborn Errors

In July and August 1945, the Chase and Sanborn show broadcast 2 shows from Santa Monica, 1 from Corona and 1 from Pasadena. The shows are available at

The logs from Jerry H and to a lesser extent radiogoldindex show:

45-07-29 Santa Monica

45-08-05 Corona (radiogold doesn't list a city for this date)

45-08-12 Santa Monica (radiogold says it may be 7-29)

45-08-19 Pasadena

I believe that the two Santa Monica shows have had their dates switched at some point. However if that is true then either (1) the wrong cities were announced at the end of the shows or (2) the logs have the Corona and Pasadena dates switched. The simplest explanation is the logs have Corona and Pasadena switched. I believe the shows are

45-07-29 Santa Monica (first song - Sunny Side of the Street)

45-08-05 Pasadena

45-08-12 Santa Monica (first song - There I've Said It Again)

45-08-19 Corona

Santa Monica #1 (listed as 7/29 but I think it is 8/12)

First Song - There I've Said It Again

Other Songs - Siam; The More I See You; The Blue Danube; Did You Ever See a Dream Walking; With My Eyes Wide Open; Good Night My Love

Note: Atomic weapons were dropped on Japan on Aug. 6th and Aug. 9th. Announcement to the world made by Truman on Aug. 9th. Japan surrendered Aug. 15th.

Santa Monica #2 (listed as 8/12 but I think it is 7/29)

First Song - Sunny Side of the Street
