OBS 2 Part 1: The Beginning.

The Second Great OBS war started off rather unremarkably.  In an attempt to rekindle a forum wide picture war, Kosh800 created another Ohhhh Big Steve thread in October of 2002, but forgot to post any pictures.  In fact, no pictures were posted until the third page!  Unlike the first one, logistical conflicts prevented a majority of the members from participating and war progressed very slowly.  Endless bickering erupted amongst those involved in the war and the spark just wasn't there; the Second OBS War was somewhat of a disappointment.  This is what happens when things are created from those with lesser hands. During the war, one silly newb (The Observer), asked how this compared to the first OBS war.   Even at its height, OBS II was nothing like the original.  After an incredibly slow and unspectacular beginning, the first set of images were posted.  Kosh created several images of an X-Wing wrecking havoc, much like the shuttles did in the ODB war.  Unfortunately, these very first set of pictures have been lost forever; however, images of Sean's retaliation have been preserved.

It was not just Sean either, E1701 joined in on the fun and destroyed another one of Kosh's X-Wings.

This OBS war had a different feel to it: the old vs. the new.  The newbies of the forum and those who did not participate in the first one were determined to establish themselves, and the best way to do that was to challenge a long-time OBS veteran.  These newbies weren't around for the first OBS war, or even the ODB war.  While they were sitting around in their diapers being fed on their mother's breast, the First Ones were out on the front lines fighting a never-ending battle.  With the newbies joining forces and targeting Kosh, there was only one thing to do: obliterate the noobs.  Joining his long-time rival for this new war was Cool Guy.  After recently completing a finishing construction on a new line of ships, Cool Guy unleashed them on the newbies.  Cool Guy's flagship, the Aurora, drops out of hyperspace and crushes one of Sean's fleets.  Shortly thereafter, an Angle Fire Class attack ship obliterates E1701.

As more members joined the war, more pictures began to fire.  Douglas Nicol formally announced his entrance by posting a picture of an I-War ship orbiting a planet.  Unbeknownst to Douglas, the planet was inhabited by Denix Lineli.  As one of Douglas's scout ships scanned the planet, Denix opened fire.
