CasualConc 3 beta release

After a couple of years of working on new features, I finally released CasualConc 3 beta. This version has several new features along with updated user interface. This version of CasualConc requires macOS 11.1 (Big Sur) or later.

New Features:

  • Grammar search using dependency grammar tags by Stanford CoreNLP: You need to install Java 8 and Stanford CoreNLP separately on your own (not difficult).

  • Basic XML file handling feature: This is an attempt to search XML files quick and easy (dirty) way. This assumes not so complicated XML structure.

  • Updated database mode: You can now add POS information using TreeTagger or MeCab (for Japanese). You need to have them on your Mac.

  • Additional Keyness statistics (Word Count) and vocabulary diversity measures (File Info): LL and Chi2 keyness now has p-values

  • Updated user interface: Dropped drawers (which prevented fully going into dark mode) and replaced them with split views. Also adjusted layouts for latest macOS.
