CasualTranscriber

CasualTranscriber is a utility program to assist transcription of audio/video text.  It can handle most of the file types QuickTime can handle.

This program hasn't been fully tested.  If you use this and find any bugs/weirdness, please let me know.

NOTE: A new version (2.7) is available, but the English manual is not ready. Basic functions are covered in the version 2.1 manual.

A new version is available, though the manual is available only in Japanese (check the Japanese site). Most of the basic functionality is in common with Version 2.1, so you can start with the manual for Version 2.1.

NOTE: Due to the space limitation of Google Sites, the file is now on Google Drive. Once you click the download link, you will be transferred to Google Drive where you need to click Download to save the disk image.

A new version (2.7 beta) is released. This new version includes automatic transcription of text in a file or using macOS's dictation feature. If you want to try, download version 2.7. If not, download the old version at the bottom.

This version uses macOS's voice recognition feature to automatically transcribe voice data. This may or may not work as intended, so if you have any problem please report the bug to me. This feature is only available on macOS 11 Big Sur or later, so this new version requires macOS 11.3 or later. In the future I may drop a support for Big Sure, though.
