The opening to school was a huge success! Special thanks to all who attended our Back to School Night and special thanks to our dedicated staff who worked so hard to get the start of school up and running smoothly. We appreciate all of their hard work for our students! Have a great month!

Socks + October = Socktober

During the month of October, Valley Park students are being asked to send in donations of new socks to help homeless families in our area. After the donations have been collected they will be taken to the Salem County Women’s Services in Salem.

Over the past 4 years, we have collected 1,948 pairs of socks! Let's keep the kindness going strong!

Week of Respect

Next week our elementary schools will be celebrating our Week of Respect. Every day has a fun theme, listed below:

Monday: Be Different-wear crazy hair style

Tuesday: It's no sweat- wear favorite active wear/sneakers

Wednesday: i'm crazy about my family- wear crazy/backwards clothes

Thursday: We respect our country- wear red, white, blue

Friday: Brighten our community with respect- wear bright colors


Winter Coat Giveaway

On Saturday, October 5, the NAACP will be distributing 250 winter coats –sizes 2T-16 at South Smith and Maple Street in Penns Grove between 10 am and 12 noon.

From the Education Foundation

We are the district-wide Parent/Teacher group to assist with the activities and events at ALL of the schools. Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 15th @ 6pm in the downstairs Auditorium of the District Office. Please join us to hear about and help with all the wonderful things we have planned for our schools!

Get Those Box Tops In!

General Mills is making a lot of changes to their Box Top Program. So we are running a grade level contest in each building to make the most of these changes! ALL Box Tops are due in to your teachers by October 24th. The classroom in each grade level per school that has submitted the most actual Box Tops and app credits, will receive a snack card to use at lunch. Get those Box Tops in, as this might be the only Box Tops contest this year!! We will keep you updated!

Movie Under the Stars

Join us October 3rd, 2019 for Movie Night Under the Stars featuring Disney’s Aladdin On the PMHS Football Field. Doors open at 6:30p & the movie will start at 7 sharp. The snack shack will be open! Bring chairs (only allowed on the outside perimeter of the football fields) and blankets to sit on. This is an event for all ages please remember ALL children must be accompanied by an adult.

Save the Date!

Save the date of Oct 14th, from 3pm-9pm, when we will host our first ever Chuckie Cheese Fundraiser Night in Delaware @ the Rt. 202 location. During this time frame come hang with your family and other school friends AND Chuckie and his friends. 15% of all sales from this event will be donated to the Ed Foundation, Look for a FREE 10 points sticker for each student to come home the Friday before the event.

Get Ready for the Book Fair

The week of Oct 21st- Oct 24th is our annual Fall Book Fair Week! Family night when you can come and shop with your student will be Wednesday Night, October 23rd. Students will also be able to complete a craft in the cafeteria that evening. Please keep an eye out for more information.
