Fun things are happening at Valley Park! Make sure to check out all of the special things listed below that have been happening at our school and please don't forget to click on the calendar link above to see upcoming events and important dates including school closings.

Also, we are very excited to be taking part in Rocky’s Reading Challenge this month. Just a reminder, Rocky’s bookmarks are due March 14th. Be sure to keep an eye out for more information about all the great activities that will be coming up this spring.

As always, thanks for all of your wonderful support! Happy Spring!

Mrs. Bobbie-Ann Fordham, Principal

Thank you for your Kindness!

We just wanted to take another opportunity to THANK YOU all for the generous donations of juice boxes and chips that were collected as part of our Great Kindness Challenge! We appreciate your support!

Special thanks to Mrs. Smith's 1st grade class who collected special treats for our Pennsville police officers and firefighters!

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

This week at Valley Park we have been busy celebrating Dr. Suess' 115th birthday! On Friday, March 1st, our kindergarten and first grade students had a wonderful assembly encouraging them to keep on reading! Preschool had special visitors from the Pennsville Police Department who took time out of their busy day to read to each of our preschool classes.

Bee Reading Initiative UPDATE!

Our students are still busy, busy, busy reading! Make sure to keep encouraging your child to read, as our Bee Reading Initiative will continue until the end of April. At the end of April, the top 3 readers in kindergarten and first grade will be notified of their achievement. These 6 extraordinary readers will be recognized at the June 10th Board of Education meeting, so make sure to save the date!

Parent Requests

To be able to meet the needs of all students, the elementary schools in the district do not accept parent requests for next year’s classroom teachers. Thank you for your understanding.

100 Days Smarter!

Did you know that Tuesday, February 20th was the 100th day of school? Valley Park’s staff and students certainly did! Kindergarten celebrated by dressing “fancy” for the occasion, while 1st grade students dressed as if they were 100 years old! Even some of our teachers got in the spirit! Well done everyone… and summer break will be here before we know it!

Report Card Reminder

Just a reminder that Valley Park follows a trimester schedule for report cards in grades K and 1. Our 2nd trimester report card will be available March 28th after 4:00 pm through PowerSchool. Please contact the main office if you do not have Internet access and wish to have a copy of the report card sent home.

Project Graduation Needs Your Help!

The PMHS Project Graduation committee fundraises and plans non-alcoholic events/parties for after Prom and Graduation. In hosting these events, we provide a safe place for High School students to celebrate their achievements with their fellow classmates, which in turn makes their last hoorah one to remember! We are asking for $10 gift card donations to local eateries, convenience stores, online stores, etc. Any money or check (made out to Project Graduation) donations are greatly appreciated. Please put donations in a sealed envelope to the attention of Project Graduation, Laurie Hyatt. We also need parents who would be able to volunteer to help distribute balloons the night of the 8th grade dance and the night of graduation. Please let Lee Locke know if you are able to help (lockefam22@comcast.net).
