Beekeeper's Corner: Message from Miss Jordan

Good things are happening at Valley Park! We are off to a great start of a new school year! Our Back to School Night was a huge success and well attended. We appreciate that so many parents/guardians attended. As the new year gets underway, please don’t forget to complete the “Back to School Packet” located in PowerSchool by September 15, if you haven’t already done so. This is where all of our back to school forms are located that must be completed for every student. This includes all of the dismissal, emergency, and medical information that the school needs for your child.** Please note that those students riding a bus must have the dismissal bus protocol information completed by September 15th to continue riding the bus. Please contact the main office if you have any questions or if you need assistance logging in to your PowerSchool account.

Thank you,

Miss Jordan, Principal

Escort “Pick Up Pals” Program Information

All students are grouped as a bus rider, Escort “Pick Up Pals” Program participant, Just Kids participant, or “other”. All students who are not riding a bus or who are not participating in the Escort Program or Just Kids are dismissed at the side of the building. Please note that staff cannot ensure that a student walks home with or is picked up by any particular person unless that student is enrolled in the Escort “Pick Up Pals” Program. Enrollment forms are available in the main office. Thank you!

Don't Forget a Change of Clothes

Please remember to pack a weather appropriate change of clothing for you Valley Park student, especially a pair of pants and underwear. Accidents sometimes happen, and it is far easier for your child if we have a change of clothes all ready for them.

Also, the nurse practitioner’s office is accepting donations of gently used children/youth sized sweatpants and shirts that are in good condition for changes of clothing that may be needed. It is important that if your child is sent home in a change of clothes from the nurse practitioner’s office that the borrowed clothing is washed and returned. Thank you.

Where Can I Find Out What’s Going On?

Did you know there are several locations you can find out what is going on at Valley Park? First, important announcements and reminders will be sent home via our School Reach system. Please be sure to take note of these important phone calls, emails and text messages when you receive them. Also, important dates, including school closings and early student dismissals, are listed on the district calendar and our Elementary Events Schedule. District and school information can also be found in the school handbook, monthly newsletters, and PowerSchool website.

Birthday Celebrations

Students are not permitted to bring in birthday items/treats from home to distribute to other students. Our cafeteria service designates one day each month as “Birthday Celebration Day”, which is marked on the monthly menu. A birthday treat will be served to all students.
