Nurse Practioner's Office

The nurse practitioner’s office is accepting donations of gently used children/youth sized sweatpants and shirts that are in good condition for changes of clothing that may be needed. If your child is sent home in a change of clothes from the nurse practitioner’s office, please wash and return the borrowed clothing. Thank you.

Grinch Day

On Friday, December 13, Valley Park will be celebrating Grinch Day. Please have your student wear green and a Santa hat. Throughout the day the students will be taking part in fun activities all relating to the classic Dr. Suess book "How the Grinch Stole Christmas".

Parent Teacher Conferences

As our first trimester is coming to an end, we are now beginning to prepare for parent conferences. Parent Teacher Conferences will be held December 16-19. Please note that these dates are also Elementary Early Student Closings.

As you know, parent teacher conference scheduling is handled through an online system called Classtag.com. If you haven't been able to schedule your conference, please contact the main office.

Report Cards and Trimesters

Valley Park School follows a trimester schedule for report cards in grades K and 1. The first trimester report card will be available December 20th through PowerSchool. Power School parent access will be disabled until Parent Conferences end.

Please contact the main office if you do not have Internet access and wish to have a copy of the report card sent home.

The report cards for both K and 1 are standards-based and aligned with best practices and the NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards for those grade levels. Report cards will include your student’s scores for each standard. Students will receive one of three scores: “ME” for “meets expectations”, "AE" for "Approaching Expectations", or “NI” for “needs improvement”.

As always, staff will contact parents/guardians anytime throughout the school year individually if there is a concern with student progress. Thank you!

How do I find my Child's Report Card

With the first trimester coming to an end, make sure to follow these simple steps, and you can view your student’s report card and review assignments throughout the year.

1.) Log into your PowerSchool account by going to www.psdnet.org, and clicking on the PowerSchool link found on the right hand side of the page.

2.) Type in your username and password. If you aren’t sure of this information for your student, please contact the main office.

3.) At this point, you can print a report card by clicking on the “Report Card” link on the left hand side of the page.

4.) To view current grades or assignments, click on the “Standards Grades” tab at the top of the screen. Anything with a black arrow to the left, you can click on to review more details.

If you have any questions about this process or need us to send home a printed copy of the report card, please do not hesitate to contact the main office at 856-540-6200x7800. Thank you!
