You can apply for funding to support collaboration between iGGi research students. These collaboration projects may take a variety of forms, but we anticipate that they may take the form of events, e.g. research retreats, workshops, in-person SIGs etc.
There is no closing date for applications and we aim that decisions will be made within 4 weeks of submission.
To apply for collaborative research funding, simply complete the one page Google form.
Once the funding has been approved payments and purchases must be made in line with the usual procedures. All purchases must be made either by the finance team at York (for conference registrations, memberships etc.) or via your university's approved travel provider (Selective Travel for York; Key Travel at QMUL).
A nominated IGGI student must be a primary contact for the collaboration project
Collaboration projects must have a minimum of two named iGGi students on the application form
Projects must demonstrate wider engagement across the iGGi community with an anticipated minimum of five iGGi students who will take part in the project
Funding can be requested up to a maximum of £2000, however applications should only request the budget as required for the scope of the project
Funding is anticipated to be used for travel and subsistence, venue hire, consumables/materials for the collaboration activity etc. Equipment may be considered in exceptional circumstances. All funding must be appropriate to deliver the project and adhere to expense policies of the university partner(s) involved
Applications will be assessed against:
Collaborative nature of the project
Potential outputs for the project
Value for money
Successful projects are required to submit a short report (approx. 2 pages) within 3 months after the project end date. This report will be logged for auditing purposes, and may be shared internally and externally (e.g. iGGi website and with iGGi funders)
If you have any queries relating to this funding please contact Laurissa Tokurchuk or Debbie Maxwell, iGGi's Research Collaboration Coordinators.
A report of the project must be submitted within 2 months of the project end date. To get an idea of what is expected, or just to have a look at previous activities which have received funding, you can see reports of previously funded activities on the Collaborative Funding Reports page.
