We will be learning about the writing process (which is described below). Students will learn to follow this writing process during each writing unit this school year.

• prewrite - brainstorm, orally tell story, and make a plan for writing
• draft - sequence ideas into sentences that stay on topic throughout the text and generate evidence of a simple opening and simple closing
• revise and edit - respond to questions and suggestions, edit by leaving spaces between words in sentences, and edit for language conventions
• publish - use a variety of conventional/digital tools
