Your child is expected to make great growth in reading this school year! The more your child reads, the more successful they will be. Please encourage your child to read at home every day! We will spend time reading at school daily but in order to be successful in reading, your child must read at home too. Students will be expected to complete a weekly reading log for homework, where they will log the books they are reading and the amount of time they are reading.

The amount of time required for reading homework will increase as the school year progresses and reading stamina is increased. Students will also be assessed on their reading levels regularly throughout the school year.
