Students will learn skills such as:

- write a good beginning
- use details to describe the story or experience.
- Have a problem and solution
- place events in the order they occurred.
- use linking words to indicate beginning/middle/end.
- write a good ending
- Drawing pictures that match the words and add more detail to the story
Students will pick their favorite character they have made and write a series of books on that character.
They will revise and edit and publish their favorite book at the end of the unit.
Students should be completing at least one book a day during independent writing time.
