PRINCIPLES OF ENGINEERING (84410) Must travel to Weber Innovation

POE is a building and investigating class! Students explore a broad range of engineering topics such as mechanisms, structural strength, energy, automation of devices, and ballistics. (2 Period Block)

WSU CE fee applies 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 1.0 CTE or 3rd yr Science credit

Concurrent enrollment offered through Weber State ENGR 1000 (2 cr)

INTRO TO ENGINEERING DESIGN (84420) Must travel to Weber Innovation

This is the first instructional course in a sequence of courses that prepares students to develop technical knowledge and skills required to plan and prepare scale pictorial interpretations of engineering and design concepts. This includes instruction in the use of 2D/3D CAD software, sketching, drawing layout, geometric construction, orthographic projection, and dimensioning. **This is a year-long class.

WSU CE fee applies 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 1.0 CTE credit

Concurrent enrollment offered through Weber State PDD 1010 (3 cr)

DIGITAL ELECTRONICS (84430) Must travel to Weber Innovation

Students are exposed to basic electronic principles (number systems, logic gates, integrated circuits, PLD's, sequential logic) and how to create circuits to solve problems. (2 Period Block)

WSU CE fee applies 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 1.0 CTE or 3rd yr Science credit

Concurrent enrollment offered through Weber State EET 1110 (2 cr) and EET 1130 (4 cr)

ROBOTICS AND AUTOMATION (84440) Must travel to Weber Innovation

Students will design injection molds, program robots, create automated manufacturing processes, use 3D printers and CNC machines to produce models of their 3D CAD designs. Prerequisitie: IED (2 Period Block)

Fee $10 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 1.0 CTE credit

CIVIL ENGINEERING AND ARCHITECTURE (84450) Must travel to Weber Innovation

This is a Project Lead The Way (PLTW) engineering course that provides an overview of the fields of civil engineering and architecture, while emphasizing the interrelationship and dependence of both fields on each other. Students use state-of-the-art 3D architectural software (Autodesk Revit) to solve real world problems and communicate solutions to hands-on architectural projects and activities. Students will work in design teams with specific stakeholder roles, aligning to real-world industry standards. **This is a year long class.

WSU CE fee applies 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 2.33 CTE credit

Concurrent enrollment offered through Weber State BDC 1350 (3 cr) and CMT 2360 (4 cr)

AEROSPACE ENGINEERING (84460) Must travel to Weber Innovation

Students explore a broad range of Aerospace topics such as drones, rockets, flight simulators, composites, robotics, programming, space travel, helicopters, aircraft and gliders. (2 Period Block)

Fee $10 10th, 11th or 12th Grade 1.0 CTE credit

ENGINEERING DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT (84470) Must travel to Weber Innovation

The knowledge and skills acquired throughout the PLTW and ICA programs come together as students work through the design process to identify a problem, research the problem and possible solutions, design & test solutions, and present their product to a panel of engineers. (2 period block)

WSU CE fee applies 12th Grade only 1.0 CTE credit

Concurrent enrollment offered through Weber State PDD 2830 (3 cr)
