DRAMA 1 (32110)
This is an introductory course for those who think they might enjoy performing on stage. Voice and diction skills, movement, pantomime, and acting are some of the subjects we explore. A wide range of experiences and opportunity to perform on stage will be available to each student. If you’ve already taken theatre classes, no worries, this course will broaden your horizons even more.

DRAMA 2 (32350)
Drama 2 is a continuation of Drama I. We will use the skills learned in Theatre I to dig a bit deeper. You will be introduced to the elements of Technical Theatre and Production Design, write your own plays, and work on duo scenes and monologues. This is a ½ year course.

DRAMA ADVANCED (32351)
Advanced Theatre is an intermediate theatre course designed for students who really enjoy the dramatic arts and wish to increase their knowledge and skills. This class is for incoming Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors that are dedicated to the Theatre Arts. The first half of the year, we will explore Improvisation, Shakespeare, Greek Theatre, Contemporary Scenes, and Monologues to start preparations for the UHSAA Theatre Competition. This class will also practice and produce the UHSAA Theatre Competition One-Act play that has the potential to reach the Utah State Competition. After competition is complete in March/April, this class will focus on other one-act plays that are student directed that will perform in our Center Stage Showcase.
Pre-requisite: Theatre 1 (WJH), Drama 3 (RMJH), or Theatre 1 & 2 (FHS)

THEATRE 4 - Play Productions (32356)
Theatre IV is an advanced theatre class which is designed for those students who love the dramatic arts and are serious about improving their skills. In this course, you will participate in advanced acting, script analysis, preparation, and audition techniques, advanced scene work, advanced make-up, directing, and more. In conjunction, students will have the opportunity to direct their own plays and perform in productions. All those considering a career in theatre or hoping to receive a theatre scholarship should take this class.
Audition is required prior to registration.

MUSICAL THEATRE (32357)
Musical Theatre is the class to be in if you want to work on your “triple threat” skills! This class will focus mainly on Dance for Musical Theatre and will also focus on the history of this amazing art form. Whether you're a beginner, want to increase your skills, OR if you just need more performing in your life, this is the place to be! This class will participate in a “Broadway Revue” each semester where you will perform for your parents. No prerequisite required.

INTRODUCTION TO THEATER TECH (32355)
If you’re interested in theatre but don’t want to be on stage or if you’ve ever been curious about what happens behind the scenes of a live theatrical production, then this class is for you. In this ½ year course, students will be introduced to all the elements of technical theatre. We will study the scenic design, costume design, lighting design, and sound design. We will also learn basic scenic construction skills, scenic painting skills, prop making skills. Additionally, students will learn how to run all the stage equipment in Fremont’s auditorium including the lighting control console, sound mixing console, how to hang and focus lighting instruments, how to hang scenery from a counterweight (fly system), and more. If students are interested in working backstage for any of Fremont’s productions and assemblies, this class must be completed first.

STAGE CREW (32358)
After learning all the fundamentals in Intro to Technical Theatre, students have the opportunity to work on the Fremont stage. Students in this course design, construct, paint all the scenery for the theatre department’s mainstage productions (4 per year). Additionally, students may apply to stage manage productions as well as design lights, sound, and props for productions. Also, students will work as the backstage running crew for productions as well as operate all sound and lighting equipment for productions, assembly, and auditorium facility rentals. Students who are interested in pursuing technical theatre in college should take this course. After school commitment is expected. Only 25 students will be allowed in each section of stage crew each year.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Theatre Tech
Requires a teacher signature for acceptance into the course.

SURVEY OF CINEMA/FILM STUDIES (32266)
This course is intended to familiarize students with the particulars of film history, film production and film analysis. This course should appeal to any and all students who LOVE to watch movies and discuss them. In addition to watching and discussing movies, you will also be creating your own short films with the skills you learn in class about cinematography, editing, genre, humanism, acting, directing and more!

INTRO TO THEATRE - WSU THEA1013 (32340)
An introduction to live theatre and drama and the creative heritage of theatre. Students will develop critical awareness of dramatic theory and performance practice through reading and evaluating historical and contemporary drama, and through applied creative activities. Students are expected to attend theatre performances outside of regularly scheduled class time. Fulfills a college general education requirement in Humanities.

INTRO TO DANCE - WSU DANC1010 (32345)
An introduction to dance, providing a knowledge base from which to experience dance from a variety of viewpoints: historically, culturally, aesthetically, critically and creatively. This course takes a close-up look at the rules, messages and meanings embodied in dance around the world. This is a writing intensive course. Students are expected to attend dance concerts and cultural dance experiences outside regularly scheduled class time. This course fulfills the diversity credit for Weber State. Open to all students.

SILVER NOTES (32265) - Beginning Choir
This non-auditioned choir is designed for the female student wishing to focus on vocal technique, sight singing, note reading and other music skills. This performing group will prepare students for the opportunities that will be presented in other choral groups at FHS. Performance attire may be required.

MEN'S CHORUS (32267) Beg Choir TB
This non-auditioned choir is designed for the male student wishing to focus on vocal technique, sight singing, note reading and other music skills. This performing group will prepare students for the opportunities that will be presented in other choral groups at FHS. Performance attire may be required.

SILVER SERENADE (32137) - Specialty Choir
This auditioned ladies choir is designed to give talented female singers the opportunity to sing quality and challenging literature for women. Singers will be selected through auditions held during the spring prior to the performance year. Concepts learned in prior choral classes will be expanded and further developed. Performance attire will be required.

A ’CAPELLA (32465)
This is the premier choral group at FHS designed as a select ensemble composed of students who have already demonstrated excellent musical abilities and who are striving for perfection in choral music. Students should expect to participate in an extensive performance schedule. Some outside rehearsals may be required. Membership is determined by auditions held during the spring prior to the performance year. Performance attire is required.

LEGACY CHOIR (32461)
This very select choir of 24 is designed for students who have the desire and ability to sing with the top performing group at FHS. Priority is given to students who are members of both A'Cappella and Legacy. Ability to independently learn and execute one's part is required. This group is requested to perform throughout the community and hours of extra time may be required. Students placed in A'Cappella during spring auditions will be given the opportunity to audition for Legacy. Performance attire is required.

HANDBELL CHOIR (32363)
This non-singing choir is comprised of 10-15 students who are interested in, or have experience in ringing handbells. Standard handbell ringing techniques, music reading, and other music concepts will be addressed. Priority is given to students who are good music readers. Practice and performance gloves are required.

AP MUSIC (32615)
This class is a college level music theory class and should be taken by junior or senior students interested in pursuing music or developing their knowledge. Different theoretical aspects of music will be explored as well as music history, ear training, and sight reading. Students may earn college credit by taking the National AP exam. Basic note reading and general music knowledge is a must for this class.

INTRO TO MUSIC - WSU MUSC 1010 (32283CE)
CE Music Appreciation is designed to make music more meaningful to the average listener. The student will learn about great composers throughout the history of music as well as their contributions to music. Course topics will be aimed at developing better music listening skills and some basic musical language. Textbook purchase required. Outside concert attendance may be required. Provides a high school Fine Arts/elective credit as well as 3 Creative Arts credit.
