This course is geared towards compiling a portfolio for college credit. Students will be working on a college level and be expected to complete 4-6 hours of work per week in class and outside of school in order to keep up with the intense projects. It is recommended that students take this course as a junior and senior if possible. AP portfolio required. An AP score of 3-5 receives ART 1030 (3) AND ART 1xxxx (3) credits at WSU.

In this class students will be given opportunities to further their painting skills. Students will be working with watercolor and acrylic paints, but if time allows other painting media will be introduced. We will be doing more advanced projects with a focus on three dimensional form, good overall design and good painting techniques. Learning some Art History and Contemporary Art styles will also be incorporated into the course. Students who take this course will have awesome paintings they will be proud of by the end of the semester.
