Our ninth performance task was to create a Google Classroom tutorial from the perspective of a teacher and a student. The performance task was given ahead of time, and our teacher explained and showed examples of how we would create our video tutorial. During our planning stage for the creation, one of my members volunteered to do the editing while I volunteered to do the script and voiceover; meanwhile, other members of the group recorded it from a teacher’s point of view and a student's point of view. After Faith edited the whole video, I had to create a script from the video. After inputting my voiceover, Faith will put the final touches to edit the video to match my voice recording. Meanwhile, other members record their perspectives as students on their mobile phones. I felt happy after finishing our task that I was able to put my skills into script writing, and I felt also proud that everyone cooperated to finish our performance task.
Overall, we were able to complete our task because of the clear instructions and enough time given by our teacher to finish our output. The editing by Faith was crucial in setting the foundation, and the contributions from all members have put in the parts needed to complete the task. The clear division of responsibility also plays a role in our success, and because our teacher showed us examples, we had an idea of how to start the tutorial. The collaborative effort of the whole team has ensured a complete and good-to-watch video tutorial.
From this experience, I have learned that communication and planning are important. With well-distributed tasks in the early stages, we can adjust our time and do the activity. In my future projects with my group, I will still establish open communication and promote collaboration and initiative.
