Our third performance task is to interview an ICT personnel. We were given guide questions and were tasked to take documentation of our activity. We are also tasked to work with our peers with six members maximum, and we have interviewed two personnel during the task; one is from the library, and the second is an instructor who resides in the computer facility near the WPU Library.
The whole interview has been a roller-coaster ride since we had limited time to spare for the interview. Before we gathered in front of the library, we planned for the questions and came up with follow-up questions for further clarification and assigned who would ask, who would be the videographer, and who would edit the video. We are determined to interview one person only, and we chose to find one in the WPU Library who is well-versed in the eSafety rules. We have interviewed Sir Mark outside of the facility because any loud talk is prohibited inside the library. However, during the interview, a lot of noise was evident in the recording, such as falling metal bars, falling drums, and other machine noise because an extension of the library was being constructed. Thus, me and my friends were not content with our output; we decided to interview another person in the ICT Facility of the university, and we found Sir Harmann Rey Golez. We asked for the free time of Sir Harman, and he said that he could be free in the afternoon, but since we have a class, we rescheduled the interview for tomorrow. Meanwhile, due to unexpected events, our afternoon class was suspended, and we are free to take on the interview. We decided to take our chance and meet Sir Harmann, but he humbly declined our request because of a work set for his afternoon schedule. At 7 am the day after, the six of us arrived early at the facility to make the interview, as we also had tight schedules for the rest of the day and it was too, the only free time of Sir Harman. After the interview, we took a quick tour of the facility and were amazed by the new technologies being utilized inside the establishment.
During the interview, we have learned that instructors in the ICT facility who work directly with devices and technologies are more confident in answering our questions about the safety rules, well-versed in safety policies and guidelines by the student handbook, and guided and aligned with the ISO's. Additionally, the new experience with the latest devices inside the facility poked our curiosity into exploring technological tools such as a smartboard and a smart projector.
In conclusion, I have learned so much during the interview with Sir Harmann and Sir Mark; both personnel possess adequate knowledge of eSafety rules and are well aware of the university ICT facility guidelines. The new learning we have accumulated from our interviewee's answers added to the body of knowledge that we can be able to use in order to effectively utilize the use of technological devices in the ICT facility and in teaching.
