Sammy Sanchez and Martin Bartz

Hello Patriots! This is officially the first article from the spotlight section this school year. And we’re pleased to shout-out 2 of our Junior Varsity Football players. They are Sammy Sanchez and Martin Bartz who are both talented sophomores. They use Football as a way to hang out with their friends outside of school. Sammy has been playing since he was 10 and Martin started his freshman year. Neither of them want to pursue football in college or in the NFL and instead want to pursue other things. For instance, Sammy wants to eventually play Pro Baseball. All of this is not to say they don’t have their fair share of issues when it comes to Football. They both feel as if they don’t yet have the speed necessary for the game. However, they work hard and practice things like their speed and catching with several exercises. Outside of Football Sammy likes to play Baseball while Martin enjoys Golf. They mentioned that one of their happiest moments on the team was beating Woodland this past weekend. We ended our interview by asking if there was anything they’d want to share with young players and they said “Just Have Fun.” See you next week for our next Spotlight interview!
