Student Speaks

In honor of the month of Gratitude, we wanted to see what the student body was most thankful for. An overwhelming majority were grateful for Family, with Friends following behind. We included a spot for students to fill-in their own answer. Creative answers include the color pink, total monarchy, and Fortnite.

How do you spend Thanksgiving?

"I spend Thanksgiving with my family, with lots of delicious food that we prepare together, making lots of meaningful memories, having lots of fun, and being grateful for each day and for the time we get to spend together."  --Constance Hershberger (11)

"I usually spend thanksgiving with my family and try out recipes with them. Since my parents are first generation immigrants, none of us are really experienced with cooking western style dishes, so it's fun to try new things." --Olivia Yu (12)

"I usually do nothing, I don't really celebrate thanksgiving but I cherish any moment I have with my family. Sometimes, we buy a chicken dinner to make our own little "thanksgiving" dinner, with or without a turkey, what counts are the people sitting on that table where we share our meal." --Melanie Salazar (11)

"I spend my Thanksgiving with my dad. Because of circumstances, we don't make the typical turkey dinner. However, we still make it a special day by going out somewhere." --Eva Mclean (11)
