Girls Tennis Senior Night: Go Lady Patriots!

On October 19, the Pioneer Girls Tennis team played their last matches of the season against Mesa Verde. They won 11 matches out of 12, with some of the sets being a flawless 6-0! They played with great dexterity and really shined throughout this game and their season.

To add on to their last tennis match of the season, Pioneer also had their celebration for their Senior night. They had a total of 9 seniors, Rachel Crets, Daniela Padilla, Victoria Bechtel, Rubda Fatima, Alejandra Hernandez, Ashley Davis, Valeria Morales, Namrata Paudel, and Sabrina Figueroa. The other members of the Girls Tennis Team created posters for each of the seniors with heartfelt messages to send them off with a memorable tennis season. Along with the posters were gift baskets filled with candy and other personal gifts.

Rachel Crets, ranked #1 on the Girls Tennis Team, expresses, “My season had some highs and lows, but overall I was happy with how I played and improved over the season”. Although there may have been some lows throughout their season, she has enjoyed playing at a competitive and casual level. She tells us that “My favorite memories from the season are playing triples and other games with the girls after practice”. As of her last few games playing for Pioneer, she has said “I would love to continue to play tennis in college if I get the opportunity to” and shows us her spirit when it comes to tennis. Overall, the Girl’s Tennis Team still had a blast before their seniors departed and followed their own new paths.

The Lady Patriots have played very well and with a lot of determination throughout their entire season. With a close to perfect 9-1 season, they showed the hard work and dedication they put in playing tennis. Great season Lady Patriots!
