Girls Soccer Senior Night

Pioneer’s Lady Patriots do it once again! At the end of the season, it is easy to see our Lady Patriots have worked very hard to be where they are. On February 1, the Pioneer Girls Soccer team played their last game against Casa Roble before playoffs.

The Lady Patriots were the clear favorites coming into this game just looking at their records and their history playing. This brought us lots of momentum coming into the game.

We scored our first goal fairly quickly. It was clear that Casa could not match the speed that the Lady Patriots were playing at. We dominated the ball control time. Once we secured our second goal, our Lady Patriots were unstoppable, making every effort to hustle for the ball and tackle defenders.

Having all the momentum in the world, our Lady Patriots made their final point. With each point being scored by three different members of the team: Alma Perez (Senior), Gabriela Vega (Freshman), and Galilea Bolivar (Sophomore).

As mentioned by one of it’s players, Alma Perez explains how “this season our team did amazing. We were able to learn how to play together more as a team and I think that is why we were able to win all our games this season”.

Perez also mentioned some of her highlights of the season; “Three highlights of this season would be my senior night as, finally beating woodland and winning league undefeated for the first time ever”.

Once the final whistle was blown, Pioneer were declared League Champs, going undefeated through league play. Throughout the celebrations and the victory, the Lady Patriots showed that they were a complete team that worked together solidly, and could out play any other team.
