Link Lunch

On Thursday, September 15th, various freshmen and teachers alike gathered on the basketball courts before walking to various parts of campus where link leaders had activities and snacks ready. Link leaders organized an event in which students would be excused during their 5th period and get into groups to play fun games and eat snacks that the generous link leaders provided for them. The ultimate goal of Link is to make incoming students more comfortable and acquainted with their new school, as well as enabling them to make new friends, which is why the Link crew organized this amazing event for the freshman at Pioneer.

One of the activities that encouraged communication and confidence consisted of members throwing around a beach ball. On it were several different questions, and whichever question was facing the person receiving the beach ball would be answered. After a few rounds of the game the group took a break and ate some snacks. After eating and chatting, the freshmen were encouraged to separate from the group to find their friends and continue to play games and socialize.

When the time came for the picnic to end, freshmen and the link leaders went to lunch and had left the picnic making new friends.
